What moving in Lower North Shore is actually like

The Lower North Shore is our home run and the reason we set the business up on this side of the bridge. Around North Sydney, Milsons Point, Crows Nest and St Leonards you are usually in a tower with a basement dock, a posted height limit and a goods lift you have to book through building management. Our van clears a standard 2.1 metre dock, so send us the lift window and we work inside it rather than gambling on a free loading bay out the front.

Mosman, Cremorne, Neutral Bay and Kirribilli are a different job again. Plenty of homes here are 1930s walk-ups with a shared entry and a half-flight of stairs, or houses hanging off a harbour slope with twenty steps and a hedge in the way. Empty crates nest, so we carry three or four at a time to the door instead of leaving a pallet on the footpath. Military Road and Spit Road choke from about 7.30am, so early or mid-morning windows run far closer to time.

Lane Cove, Northbridge, Willoughby, Naremburn and Artarmon are mostly houses with a driveway or a garage we can reverse into. That is a ten-minute drop, dollies left with you. Chatswood swings back to towers, and building managers there are strict about docks, so tell us the booked slot when you order.

Two weeks is included, which matters here because so many moves are apartment to apartment with a few days of overlap. Keep them longer for $20 per 25 crates a week, or take as few as five crates at $4 each if you are only shifting a study and a kitchen.
