What moving in Upper North Shore is actually like

Up through Roseville, Lindfield, Killara, Gordon, Pymble, St Ives, Turramurra, Wahroonga and Hornsby the housing stock is large and the blocks are larger. Four and five-bedroom family homes are normal, so the Family Burrow and Big Burrow packs get picked most often, and both come with enough dollies to keep two or three people loading at once.

Driveways here are the thing to plan for. Many run steeply down to a garage below street level, and after rain the leaf litter makes them slick. Our driver will not free-wheel a loaded dolly down a wet slope, so we either carry short nested stacks or set up at the top and work in trips. If your garage is the easiest drop point, say so in the access notes and that is where the crates go.

The other local reality is staging. A lot of Upper North Shore moves happen over a week or more: the shed and the garage first, then the house, then the kids' rooms the night before the truck. Two weeks of hire is included, so you can pack in that order without paying twice, and we can split a delivery between the garage and the house.

Around each station there are newer unit blocks in Gordon, Lindfield and Hornsby with a small lift and a shared driveway. Those are quick, but visitor parking is often limited to one bay, so a booked two-hour window keeps everyone happy.
