Crocodile crates are our cost-effective alternative to Wombat crates: 60L and 100L plastic crates with clip-on lids, delivered and collected free from the Harbour Bridge to Palm Beach. They cost less because they are lighter-duty crates, not warehouse-grade crates. Everything else about the hire is identical.

Why Crocodile crates cost less
Wombat crates are the real thing: 68-litre warehouse crates built to take years of removalist trucks, washed and sanitised at the depot between every hire. That build is what you pay for, and for a heavy move it is worth it.
Crocodile crates are good lighter-duty crates with clip-on lids. They carry a normal household load and stack fine, they just are not built for a decade on the road. So the same service, the same driver, the same two-hour windows and the same two weeks cost twenty to fifty dollars less a pack. If the budget matters more than the heavy-duty build, this is the range.
Crocodile Crates run on their own diary with one clear day’s notice for any size: book today, delivered the day after tomorrow at the earliest.
Two sizes, one price
Every pack and every single crate is $4 whether you take 60L or 100L. Choose the size when you book; mix them by booking one and messaging us.
60L: for packing the house
A little smaller than our 68L crate and the same job: books, kitchen, wardrobes, the bathroom cupboard. Clip-on lid, stacks when full.
100L: for the bulky, light stuff
Half as big again. Doonas, pillows, coats, toys, camping gear, the contents of the shed. Same price as the 60L, so pick by what you are packing, not by the bill.

What is Crocodile Crates?
Our budget range: plastic crates with clip-on lids in 60-litre and 100-litre, same price either way, hired on exactly the same terms as the Wombat crates. Two weeks, free delivery and collection from the Harbour Bridge to Palm Beach, no bond.
Why are Crocodile crates cheaper than Wombat crates?
Because they are lighter-duty crates, not warehouse-grade ones. Wombat crates are built to survive years on removalist trucks and come back to the depot to be washed and sanitised. Crocodile crates are good lighter-duty crates with clip-on lids. The service around them is identical, so the only thing you give up is the heavy-duty build.
How much notice do Crocodile orders need?
One clear day, whatever the size. Book today and the earliest delivery is the day after tomorrow. Crocodile Crates run their own diary, so a busy Wombat day does not close a Crocodile one.
Are the crates strong enough for books and kitchen things?
Yes, for everyday loads. Fill a 60L crate to what one person lifts comfortably and it carries and stacks fine. The 100L crates are for bulk, not weight: linen, toys, coats and camping gear. If you are moving a library or a garage of tools, take the Wombat crates.
Can I mix Crocodile and Wombat crates in one order?
Book the main pack from either range, then message us and we will add the other to the same delivery. One van, one window, one price for the lot.
Do the crates come with a dolly?
Fifty crates or more include a dolly, the same as the Wombat crates. Under fifty, a dolly is available on request.
